Dr. Basta practices nephrology and internal medicine with special interest in integrating both disciplines in helping patients get better. He takes care of patients with general medical problems as well as patients with kidney disease with focus on preventive care, diabetes, hypertension, obesity and neuropathy (Nerve disease).
Dr. Basta received his undergraduate degree from University of London, England. He received his medical degree from the University of Alexandria. He did his internal medicine residency training at Eastern Virginia Medical School on the Sentara Norfolk General Hospital campus in Norfolk Virginia and was promoted to an academic position as an instructor of internal medicine and chief resident of internal medicine at Eastern Virginia medical school.
He is a fellow of the American College of Physician and a member of the American Medical Association.
Dr. Basta is board-certified in Internal Medicine by the American board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of medical specialists. He is also board-certified in nephrology (kidney-disease).
Dr. Basta nephrology training was at University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, where he completed his nephrology fellowship.
